ALIGNERS FOR 6 TO 10 YEARS OLD. A FIRST PHASE OF ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT OPTION FOR THE PEDIATRIC DENTIST

The pediatric dentist has been traditionally the “Space keeper” in both primary and early mixed dentition as well as in charge of intercepting developmental orthodontic problems that usually do not self correct or worsen with growth such as cross bites, open bites, excessive pro inclination of incisors etc. These problems or maloclussions were treated until recently with what we might call traditional appliances as for example a Bertoni one, but nowadays treatments with aligners are more frequently chosen by both parents and children. We will review case indications, length of treatment as well as other recommendations and tips of interest for the pediatric dentist.
