
SCOPE AND LIMITS OF BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Behavior management is a basic discipline and a major expertise of pediatric dentists. Evidence shows that behavior management, as well as society in general has undergone several changes and modifications over time. Behavior management interventions are influenced by many different factors around the world; such as children, parents, cultural, social, economic factors, as well as the education, skills, beliefs and clinical facilities of the pediatric dentist. To consider all these factors, the directions of behavior management and society over time as well as the significance of disease and invasive interventions in children are important steps to better define the scope and limits of behavior management. In fact, we all want to have the knowledge and skills to manage children’s behavior and decide according their best interests.
