Dr. Om P Kharbanda

Dr Kharbanda is an internationally recognized orthodontic clinician, educator, researcher, orator, innovator and leader who has devoted more than four decades of service in building the profession.

His work on clinical applications and biological aspects of miniscrew implants, automation in 3D imaging and OSA related research is widely known, internationally published and highly cited. With over 180 publications, two textbooks, two Joint India-USA patents on artificial intelligence, and a prominent position in international editorial boards are evidence of his intellectual attribute and passion for research. With an H index of 30, i10 index of 61, publications up to Impact Factor of 10.5, very few in the world can match his leadership and scholarly hallmark. Dr Kharbanda is the past President of the Indian Orthodontic Society, Past Editor in the Chief Journal of Indian Orthodontic Society, and Past President Indian Society for Cleft Lip Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies and Past President of the Indian Society for Dental Research/Indian Division of the International Association of Dental Research. He has served several scientific bodies such as the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Biotechnology, Indian Bureau of Standards, Ministry of Health, to name a few.

He serves the World Implant Orthodontic Society (WIOS) as the Advisory Board Member.

A multifaceted personality Dr Kharbanda has numerous contributions to dentistry and orthodontics.

With his vision, he created India first dedicated National Dental Research Institute at AIIMS.
