PULP THERAPY IN PRIMARY TEETH: A GUIDELINE UPDATE

Dr. Dhar is a clinical professor and chair of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry and assistant dean of postgraduate and professional studies in dentistry. He currently serves American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry as Member of Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Consultant of Council on Scientific Affairs, and as the Chair of Council on Post-doctoral Education. Dr. Dhar also serves the American Dental Association on its Council on Scientific Affairs as the Chair of Clinical Excellence Subcommittee, and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as an examiner/part-Leader on the Oral Clinical Exam and Qualifying Exam subcommittees respectively. He works on incorporating evidence-based dentistry in education and patient care and serves on both AAPD and ADA expert panels to create evidence-based clinical recommendations.
ABSTRACT
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has published clinical practice guidelines for pulp therapies in primary teeth. This session will outline how to interpret the AAPD’s pulp therapy guidelines from a clinician’s perspective and evaluate in-depth the key evidence-based findings for vital and non-vital pulp therapies in primary teeth.
