SIMPLE AND ADVANCED OPTIONS FOR THE OBTURATION OF NECROTIC IMMATURE TEETH

The treatment of teeth with open apices represents one of the most complex and technique-sensitive areas in clinical dental practice. Advances in biomaterials and innovative treatment protocols have moved beyond traditional approaches, providing clinicians with more effective and predictable solutions. This presentation is specifically designed for dental practitioners seeking to gain a comprehensive understanding of current evidence-based strategies for the management of teeth with open apices. The presentation will comprehensively cover all stages of treatment, from the etiology of open apices to clinical decision-making and solution strategies. The use of MTA and similar materials, factors influencing their clinical success, minimally invasive approaches, and the management of complex cases will be demonstrated through numerous clinical case examples documented under the dental operating microscope. This special symposium organized by the 6th International Congress of Contemporary Pediatric Dentistry, aims to advance professional development and enhance clinical success rates. Dental professionals with a particular interest in the management of teeth with open apices are cordially invited to attend this scientific meeting.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Explain the biological and pathological basis of necrotic immature teeth with open apices.
  • Discuss simple and advanced obturation techniques for the management of open apices in immature teeth.
  • Evaluate the clinical indications, advantages, and limitations of MTA and other bioactive materials used in obturation procedures.
  • Describe minimally invasive treatment strategies and their impact on clinical predictability and long-term outcomes.
  • Analyze complex clinical cases using microscope-assisted documentation to support evidence-based clinical decision-making.
