ZAFER CEHRELI
Dr. Zafer Cehreli is a Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Istanbul Health and Technology University, with a career in academia that spans 35 years. He has contributed to the field through numerous international scientific publications, editorial roles, and authorship of chapters in medical and dental textbooks, and has received several research awards at national and international levels. Dr. Cehreli has held prominent leadership positions within the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT), serving as Director (2018–2024), Chair of the Education Committee (2016–2022), and President-Elect (2022–2024). He is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD), and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and contributes to the IAPD Pulp Therapy and IADT Guidelines Workgroups. His areas of clinical and research expertise include pediatric endodontics, dental traumatology, and pediatric esthetic dentistry. Dr. Cehreli has been invited to deliver over 100 international lectures and more than 150 national talks, in addition to conducting numerous hands-on training courses on these subjects.
TOOTH AVULSION: 2025 UPDATE
Tooth avulsion constitutes both a medical and dental emergency, requiring swift identification and immediate intervention. The International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) has progressively published a series of treatment guidelines, with a particular focus on the management of avulsed permanent teeth. These updated guidelines represent the latest version of the treatment protocols, incorporating several changes in the management of avulsion injuries while discarding outdated methods. This presentation aims to provide a comprehensive review of the current treatment protocols in relation to previous guidelines and will also highlight online resources for the prompt and late management of the avulsion injury.
